He built one of the largest practices in the Lowcountry.

Then he built the one patients deserve.

Dr. Schimpf spent twenty years doing what every surgeon sets out to do, gaining specialized skill and experience, building a large, multi-surgeon, multi-location practice, and performing thousands of surgeries.

Along the way he learned what a practice that size can't give you: Personalized care and direct access to your surgeon, from your first conversation to your last follow-up.

His background

20 years. One conviction.

Dr. Dennis Schimpf is a board-certified plastic surgeon with 20 years of experience in cosmetic surgery of the face and body. He built Holy City Plastic Surgery around a conviction that experience taught him: the best outcomes come from patients having direct access to their surgeon, and personalized care from him, before and after surgery.

After completing his general surgery residency in Buffalo and his plastic surgery fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina, he joined the MUSC faculty, where he founded the Advanced Breast Reconstruction Program and earned national recognition for his work in DIEP flap microsurgery. He later focused his practice exclusively on cosmetic surgery, bringing the precision of a microsurgeon to it.

In private practice, he founded a plastic surgery practice in the Charleston area and grew it into a multi-location group, earning an MBA from the University of South Carolina along the way.

In October 2025, he left the practice he built to start Holy City Plastic Surgery, with a deliberately different idea of how a practice should run and how patients should receive care.

In his own words

"I spent years building a bigger practice. What I know is that patients deeply value more time with their surgeon. Unfortunately, it's the first thing that disappears as a practice grows. At Holy City we accept fewer patients, and I see every one of them myself. From their first conversation to their last follow-up. That's the whole idea."

What you can expect at a consultation

and why people choose Dr. Schimpf.

  • You meet Dr. Schimpf, not a coordinator. Board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, with 20 years of experience and a background in complex reconstructive and microsurgery.
  • He asks what's actually bothering you, listens, and looks at it with you. This is an unhurried visit with Dr. Schimpf, in person or virtual.
  • He walks you through your options. Including recovery, trade-offs, and cost, and tells you what he would and wouldn't recommend.
  • He'll tell you no. If surgery isn't the right answer, or it's too soon, he'll say so. There's no obligation to schedule anything. You move at your pace.
  • Natural results, by design. If someone can tell you've had surgery, that isn't the result he's aiming for.
  • A more personal practice, by design. Access to your surgeon, built around you.
