"I just want to look like me again."
You're not trying to look different. You just want yourself back. The reflection has gotten unfamiliar, heavier, more worn. A facelift restores the structure beneath, so the face in the mirror is the one you know.

You don't have to be sure. You just have to be curious.
Is surgery right for you?
Jowls where the jawline used to be clean, folds that deepen a little every year, or a reflection that shifted with time, until one day you catch it and think: I don't look like me.
If any of that sounds like you, what you can't know from a webpage is whether it calls for a facelift or a smaller procedure. A consultation with Dr. Schimpf can help you determine what matches the outcome you want.

Setting expectations
What Surgery Does and Doesn't
What it does
- You get your jawline back. The deeper structure that softened is repositioned, not just pulled tight, so the result looks natural, never pulled.
- You get a face that matches how you feel.Folds soften, jowls resolve, and the balance your face had returns. Familiar, not different.
- You get a result that lasts.Dr. Schimpf uses the deep plane technique where it's appropriate: support is restored where it was actually lost, and the skin is re-draped without tension, which improves contour, scarring, and how long the result holds.
Some patients address the face alone. Some add the neck or eyes at the same time. The consultation is where you find out which restores what you're missing.
What You Don't Have To Worry About
- Looking pulled or overdone. The work is done on the deeper tissue layer, which is what makes results look natural rather than tight.
- Looking like someone else. You'll look like a rested, refreshed version of yourself. The aim is you, restored.
- Being recommended surgery you don't need.If a smaller procedure serves you better, that's the recommendation.
If someone can tell you've had surgery, it's not the result we are aiming for.

Recovery
What recovery is really like.
Most patients return to social activities within one to three weeks. Swelling and bruising peak in the first few days and resolve steadily. Contour and skin quality continue to refine over several months. Dr. Schimpf will walk you through the realistic timeline for your specific plan.
